All,
I am very pleased to announce that one member of the FraggedNation staff has just been added to the new position of Tech Team 
The role of a Tech Team member is brand new and is one way in which we try to show our appreciation of the hard work at a community support level that members put into FraggedNation on behalf of the entire FraggedNation community.
The Tech Team is responsible for the up keep the the advancement of FraggedNation through either coding or graphics. They are the behind the scene staff that make the site what we as a community see each day as we visit.
I would like to stress that there is no application available for becoming part of the Tech Team. This is a position that is only given to those that show total dedication to the advancement of the community.

Here at FN, we try to ensure that what you read on the site is both enjoyable and informative. If you are one of those talented few with a penchant for gaming and an affinity for the pen, then consider becoming an official |FN| staff writer (your first test is understanding the vocabulary in this sentence 
).
This is a great opportunity to get some major exposure for your writing, impact an active community, hone your skills, and build your resume.
We're looking for someone who can write official language for FraggedNation, but who has a unique flavor and can capture the "voice" of FN.

Wait a second, what does this all mean?
It means that all you have to do is post a challenge via the Prove-It! system, set an amount of credits you're willing to put on the line that you'll win, and then have someone accept and play the challenge!
What do you get if I win?
Well if you WIN the match, you get ALL your credits back, PLUS all the credits your opponent put on the line! It's a way of earning money for playing the games you love, with the settings you choose!
So wait, I can make money along the way to 20 matches, and THEN you'll give me 100 MORE credits?
That's right! We're confident that once the Prove-It! system catches on, that people will really start to use and see the benefits of quick one-off matches that they can earn money playing! We're looking for the best possible way to make people aware of this powerful platform, and we figured giving away FREE MONEY is always the easiest!

The Platform Director 
is the latest of new roles here at FraggedNation and DeathDealer will be charged with the supervision of all game types FN offers, along with their staffing. DeathDealer will be responsible for the Game Directors and ensuring that every game/ladder/tournament is being run to its optimum.

Leave your mark on FraggedNation!

Posted By: SwitchAs many of you have probably noticed by now, there is a new rotating header image here at FraggedNation - and we'd like to give you, our loyal members, a chance to leave your mark!
We will now be accepting images from the community at large to use in this new rotating header. Images must pertain to a current game supported by FN, or a game that is upcoming that is anticipated to be supported here. Images must not violate any copyrights, and obviously be appropriate for members of all ages. If you wish to sign your artwork before submission you may do so, provided the signature is at least 50% or LESS opaque, and is located in the lower right hand corner of the template image below. Any signatures that are overtly obvious and detracting from the image will be modified or removed... and if it cannot be modified or removed we will have to deny the submission.
So that being said, let the artwork battles commence! Using the template image below, do your best to give FN some more flair, and be an even greater part of this already fantastic community of gamers.
Please note that this is also included in the Admin Incentive program, so admins be sure to take part in this to further your admin rank!

First week complete, coming up next...

Yesterday marked our first event completed and things went pretty smooth. Would have been nice to see some more activity though I suppose those things happen.
We now have a private beginner ladder and are making a private intermediate skilled ladder which should be up within the next day.
These ladders accomplish a couple things. They give players a chance to get some organized game play versus players of similar experience and will also serve to support seeding of future tournaments.
We will have an advancement system where the top two ladder ranked players in beginner will advance to intermediate if the position is held without loss for two weeks. For intermediate if its clear the same situation exists we will open an advanced ladder as well.
What else does everyone want to see here hosted for QL? We have the ability to do ladders, and tournaments. Leagues are something they are working on but cannot be done yet.

That's rights people, the new seasons of the UT3 ladders are due to open for challenges on Wednesday, Jan 20th.
This will mark the Season opening of the GREED, VCTF, WAR, 1v1 Duel and TAM ladders for your enjoyment.
Please make sure your teams are aware of the new approaching seasons. We are also asking for your help to see if the existing teams can start talking in game to other and new players telling them there are places to find competition ladders for the thrill and the fun.
By helping us to spread the word on the ladders, we can get more people playing the game and more teams on the ladder which will lead to more challenges and more fun.

Quake Live Information and Resources

Quake Live is a modified version of the popular first person shooter, Quake 3. There are however a few things that set this apart from Quake 3. QL is a free web based game that includes many new maps, a complete stat tracking system and skill-matched (continued work in progress) gameplay. This game is very fast paced. Many new QL players are amazed at how fast the action is in this game compared to other first person shooters, especially once players learn to strafe jump.
This post will continue to remain a work in progress and I intend to update it frequently as needed.

Today I went through and updated all of the rules for the Anihilation ladder. You will now notice that 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 options are available from the challenge selection.
In addition to this, match specifics including win conditions and game scoring has been re-structured to be more understandble.
This season will continue till the 31st of March. Good luck to all and may the best teams win!

Posted By: TG-ShadowaceThe ladder Team Size has changed to a 4v4, 5v5, and 6v6 matches allowed, with a default of a 4v4. All matches will be 4v4, unlessboth teams come to an agreement before the match on 5v5 or 6v6. The default number formembers to play if teams can not come to an agreement is 4v4.
Additionally,no forfeit can be submitted against a team who had the required minimumof 4 players despite any previous agreement. If you have any questions about this please post them here. Thank you everyone and I look forward to some great matches, so good luck
