Wow.
Ok. Mach 5 baby!!! Welcome to the home page of Clan cE!! I'm going to give you a little breakdown of who we are and what we do. Apparantly we bring much d00m to the nation b/c no body has the courage to challenge us, so that is ego nutrition! We talk some smack, but we've earned our right to do so. Chances are we won't like you anyways. Thanks for bein easy targets! Much love! I'm bored at work right now hence the typing but I might actually see about sitting down and typing up a real introduction later. It would be my pleasure! Thanks guys!

Edit: I also tried to center this text but it did not work, so just as a heads up, the Fragged Nation needs to fix this word-like editing module. A) it sucks with unneccesary buttons. B)it doen't even work complteley. C) it's so lagged that it's transposing some of the letters of the words i'm typing...

Ambassadors
Topic: Community Announcements
Posted By: Bandit
I am very pleased to announce that two members of the FraggedNation staff have just been added to the new position of Ambassador
The role of Ambassador is brand new and is one way in which we try to show our appreciation of the hard work at a community support level that these members put into FraggedNation on behalf of the entire FraggedNation community.
Further details of what makes an Ambassador can be viewed under the Staff Menu, What is an Ambassador and I would like to stress that there is no application available; Ambassador is only given to those that show total dedication to helping others.
Thank you for your hard work:
Jni and Chaotic Cannon.

A new feature has been added to Member Blogs; A custom feed to the Blogs page for each member so you can add the feed to your favorite reader, syndicator, or social networking site like Facebook, Feedburner, Google Reader or MySpace. Using it as such will allow you to post your blog here, and then have it automatically syndicated elsewhere.
For facebook (which will be the most common use of this), simply log in and click "Settings" on your wall, then click the "Blog/Rss Import" option. Enter in this url:
http://www.fraggednation.com/rss/blogs?authID=X
where X is your user ID. It can most easily be found by going to your profile and looking at the last part of your URL - everything after the last "-" is your user ID.
Once you click Go in facebook, it will import all your recent blogs automatically, and then continue to do so!

Just a heads up to those who have not noticed, but a nice GMail style chat has been integrated into FN as of this afternoon. You should notice a small status bar at the bottom of each page now where you can set your chat status on or off, and when viewing the profile of someone who is online you can now initiate a live chat with them! You can also get this same chat link from viewing forum posts by members who are currently online.
We hope to integrate some more useful features into the small status bar at the bottom of the screen such as online friends, system notifications, etc - so keep a sharp eye out! We hope everyone enjoys this new feature!

This new feature has been implemented in full to the Prove-It! challenging system, as well as the Tournament system - allowing buy-ins for tournaments and potentially huge payouts!
We've been working on this for about 12 months, making sure it's developed right and with the best options, totally legal, and a good evolutionary step for the community and online gaming in general. We're proud that it's the only community on the web where you can win money on tournaments you create, and on an infinite variety of matches playing the games you already love to play.
But wait, there's more?! You're giving away free credits?

Massive Tournament Overhaul!
Topic: Community Announcements
Posted By: Switch
This afternoon marked another large update to the FraggedNation system - this time focused primarily on Tournaments, and making them easier to use, easier to manage, and overall more professional.
This new overhaul includes a proper double-elimination style tournament with Championship Brackets, and a totally re-worked display. Those who have been running tournaments will find that it's much easier to manage the tournaments and advance them from round to round now.
I'll be keeping an eye on this over the next week or so to iron out any bugs we may have missed during our test phases - so please if you come across anything that isn't functioning properly, or even if you just have some constructive feedback, feel free to send me a PM.
I hope everyone enjoys the new features and enhancements - it's been a heck of a process to overhaul it all with these new enhancements.

Credit System: BETA!
Topic: Community Announcements
Posted By: Switch
As of this afternoon after a long development cycle, the Credit System has finally been launched into Public Beta status.
These credits currently can only be used for Prove-It! matches, but we will be expanding this much more in the near future. The Prove-It! system has been re-worked to allow for credit payout adjustments now, and it's just eagerly awaiting some testers!
For those of you interested in helping to Beta Test this feature, please send me a Private Message and I will select at random a few dozen folks to receive some "Beta Credits" for use in the system. Once this Beta cycle has been completed, the Cart Refill option will be enabled and everyone will be able to add credits at their leisure and start winning some for themselves!
This marks a big turning point for us, and I'm very proud to have such a strong community behind us. Thank you in advance to those who will be helping get this feature ready for public consumption, and also to those who continue to help us grow every day!
On a side note, several other portions of the site have also been updated and there should be a considerable speed increase in the complex user interface elements on the site. Also those who are using Internet Explorer
should notice that the previous background-fading issue when swapping tabs has been fixed.
We hope everyone enjoys these new features!

UT3 GREED Ladder open for challenges
Topic: UT3 PC 6 v 6 GREED
Posted By: Chaotic_Cannon
Thats right,
The GREED ladder is now open for challenges. The min team size to put a team on the ladder is 4, but most teams will be playing around the 6v6 size matches.
There are currently 4 teams, with another 2 to 3 teams still assembling rosters to jump on as well.
For new people to FN ladders, please see the map list for the ladder and the ladder rules. They can be found here:
http://www.fraggednation.com/standings/pc/unreal-tournament-3/UT3-PC-6-v-6-GREED-1211
Click the "details" tab and you can see the ladder settings, the server settings required, the map lists and the ladder rule lists.
All those things are to make sure things stay smooth running throughout the season.
Lets all have some fun. There is a split between the VCTF and CTF maps, as well as there are 4 customs maps as well, so there will be the most common maps for everyone to choose from.
Hope you all have fun.

Other topics Covered in meeting:
Team Sizes during Match:
If both teams have extra players come match time, then they are free to increase the size of the team as long as both teams have equal sizes in game. i.e. 7v7, 8v8, etc.
Ladder Time Limit for team to Accept/Decline challenge:
The setting was originally set at no maximum time. This meant that a team could indefinitely either miss a challenge by mistake or ignore it on purpose as to not incur a penalty. This would mean the challenging team was stuck and not able to play other teams until the first challenge was responded too.
After team input this number was changed to 72 hours (3 days). This means that if a challenge is made on a Friday (and the team captains are away all weekend), they have until Monday to accept or decline the challenge. This way if a challenge is ignored, the team can continue and challenge another team.
If the team does not respond to a challenge after the 3 days it is an auto decline.
Challenge out hours:
The number of hours in advance a challenge could be made. This is set at 12 hours. This means if Team A makes a challenge at 8 am in the morning, the earliest time that match can take place is 8 PM that same day. This is to stop short notice challenges in an attempt to cause the other team to receive a penalty to declining a challenge.
Of course if two teams can agree verbally to have a match earlier they can play the match and report it later.
Declines Allowed:
This is the number of challenge declines a team is allowed in a 7 day period before they incur a penalty. This means that can not continuously decline a challenge time after time on purpose just so they do not have to play certain teams.
Originally it was set at 3. After team discussion it was changed to 2. So a team can have 3 days to accept or decline a challenge. Then if they do decline, they have 1 more remaining decline allowed. Once a team surpasses the 7 day declines, they are subjected to a forfeit loss penalty.
Note: If one team continuously gets challenged over and over by a particular team for the same time and even though they declined the first time, they remade the same challenge on purpose to cause the challenged a penalty, then teams are required to submit a ticket on the incident.
Challenges:
It was mentioned to the team captains that the team that MAKES the challenge will get the benefit of the SERVER CHOICE. This is to encourage YOUR team to be proactive and make a challenge BEFORE another team does.
There are instances when the team being challenged may not be able to play on the server that was picked. That team must then REQUEST a change to another server and state the reasons why.
If a team does not want to play on the challenger picked server and instead of requesting a change they decline the challenge and remake the same challenge for the same day and time but change the server to a choice of their own choice (in order to gain the advantage of being on their own clan server) can be subject to having the challenge either deleted or edited by an admin to re-instate the original server choice. Again, the team to make the challenge gets benefit of server location and if the challenged team can not play on that server, they are to state valid reasons for it and request a change.
For example, if a challenge was made by team A from the USA in California and challenged Team B from Europe and they chose a server in LA, then Team B can request a server change to a server in Eastern Europe (often UK or similar) or an EAST coast US server. Both teams will then compromise to play.
However if Team A picks a clan server in Dallas and team B requests a change to their clan server in Chicago since they don't like the "server settings." Team A can either accept or decline the change since there is no compromise for both teams, just for the one team to gain more advantage over the other.
If BOTH teams can not resolve on which server to use for the match, then both teams may be asked to play on the donated FN UT3 server for the match. The FN server is considered NEUTRAL ground and neither team or clan has control of it.
Ticket System - this was only touched on during meeting and was not gone into in any great detail, but I will talk about it here so people know about the ticket system more:
The ladders are designed for fair and fun play. Sometimes there are technical issues with servers, maps, trouble between teams prior to matches, a player being abusive in the forums or PM's or in game, a team abusing the ladder settings to try and cause another team to receive a penalty, etc.
In such instances that a Team or player finding a tech issue, or on the receiving end of abuse or anything else requiring action then please use the ticket system.
The ticket system is located under the "My Account" page. (http://www.fraggednation.com/account.php?action=showMenu) Under this page you will see the white icon with 2 tickets as the graphic and the name is support ticket.
Please enter as many details as possible and all tickets are sent to the Ladder/game or head admin. Then each admin has access to review the situation and provide comments and look into the situation. If the ticket requires actions above our access level then we can increase the ticket level and can have the global admins review it.
If a team or player has a problem with an admin, the ticket system is accessible by all the admins and you can provide details and the admin will be reviewed.
Other topics noted in meeting:
Player Game names and Fraggednation names.
is commonly known.
Currently the season is set to run Until July 31th. At that point trophies will be awarded (in FN) to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.
Then there will be a tournament that will take place over 1 or 2 weekends and the teams will be ranked in the tournament based upon their rankings in the ladder.
Suggestions made by team captains:
- Possibility of having each clan/team pick 2 tie breaker maps to have in the "Pool" of tie breaker maps for matches. Then when the matches are set up, the system could draw from the "Pool" of tiebreaker maps only and not the full map list.
Also teams are reminded to continue to challenge and keep the ladder and matches going. Admin will try and send out reminders more often to keep teams going with challenges.
This is everything that I had written down. There may be 1 or 2 things I missed but I think this is most of the items covered.

Should we add a 1v1 Euro Ladder?
Topic: UT3 1v1 Duel Season 1
Posted By: drjacobs°
We would like to take a poll if there is enough interest to start a Euro Ladder that runs at the same time as the US ladder. We would then have US vs Euro at the end of the season after the Season 2 playoffs.
Some people overseas stopped playing or never signed up because hard to schedule with US players because of time difference and some Euro players don't want to play on US servers and some US players don't want to play on Euro servers. There are only about 5 to 10 Euro players on the current ladder and only a couple that are active.
We would like input on why we should start a Euro ladder, will there be enough interest, and what other servers we could use besides Fragzone Duel London.

European Wars
Topic: Q3 eFreeze 5v5
Posted By: 333ben
European Wars
Many of you have asked for a new kind of ladder based on countries. I've written some rules with the help of other admins and players to whom I would like to thank: Bruno, Berni, Ferdi, Thibault (for issueing the original idea), Benedikt, Tomek, Florent, Vikesh, Snake, Ring, Shark, Andi, Whitey, Henriik, HtK and Dog (for his post).
This game will be played on FraggedNation although a website dedicated to this game will be created in order to support its more intricate details.
It will have a Role Play touch and some Strategy as well.
This thread will be used for preparation and discussion. Any input will be appreciated and if you have questions, do not hesitate to ask them (although for clarity's sake, please try to see if it wasn't previously answered in this post). Also please try to avoid posting useless comments - Thanks to Dog for providing an example (see next post in this thread).
Introduction
European Wars is an eFreeze ladder. In this ladder, teams will be based on the country of its members. And members will represent cities (randomly picked) of their country. Each time a game is played, one of the cities (member) will be transferred from the losing country to the winning country. If the losing team then does not have enough members available to compete, it will be fully integrated in the winning country.
Rules
- The ladder will start on 1st July (2009) and will end either on 30th September or when there is only one dominating country left.
- The ladder will be played with a classical 5 vs 5 model with maps picked by the playing teams.
- A country (team) must have at least 5 cities (members) by the ladder start but can later build (recruit) new cities (members) if and only if these members originate from the land (i.e. the regions in which the country has cities).
- When a country (team) chooses to attack (challenge) another country (team), it must pick the location of the attack which is a city (member) of the defending country (team). If the attacker wins the battle, it gains the city (and therefore the member is transferred from the defending country to the attacking country). Otherwise, if the attacker suffers a loss, its city (member) closest to the city (member) attacked will be lost to the defender.
- During a battle, the defender gets the advantage of picking the first and the third map while the attacker picks the second map.
- If a defender loses one of his 5 last cities to an attacker, it can build (recruit) another city (member) belonging to its homeland (e.g. UK cannot recruit a Dutch member in such situation). If there are no more forces available to build cities (i.e. nobody is willing or able to join the UK team) then the defender is considered annihilated by the opposing force and has no choice but to surrender to the enemy.
The homeland is the area controlled by a country (clan). Its size increases or decreases depending on members won & lost. Thereby, if the Dutch country fully takes over the French country, it will be able to recruit French people (previously not attending the ladder) afterwards.
- Each Country picks up a President (clan leader) which will control its Capital (clan leader) as the ladder starts. The President is the only person who can choose which cities (members) are involved in a battle (match). His decision is final and cannot be changed during a battle. But the President can be overthrown (not in-game, so in-between challenges) if more than half of its countrymen decide so.
Vocabulary
Annexation: Whenever a Battle happens, a City is annexed from the losing country to the winning country (i.e. the member is transferred from losing clan to winning clan).
Battle: A Battle is what a challenge/match is in usual ladders.
Capital: The Capital of a Country is the City in which the President lives.
City: A city is part of a Country, just like a clan member is part of a clan. One city is a special one: the Capital, as this is the one in which the President lives.
Country: A Country has at least 5 cities, one of them being a capital in which the President rests. In classical eFreeze terms, this would be a clan or a team.
Homeland: The Homeland of a Country is the land it controls considering the cities it owns. This is used to determine which non-ladder-members it can possibly recruit during the wars.
President: The President controls a Country, lives in its Capital and chooses which of his cities get involved whenever a battle happens. He is also the one who picks up battles.
Take-Over: If a Country annexes one of the last 5 cities of another Country, it is considered annihilated or taken over and all 5 cities go up to the winning Country.
